ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Mikael Granlund's diving swing at his own rebound 5:08 into overtime gave the Minnesota Wild a 1-0 win over Semyon Varlamov and the Colorado Avalanche yesterday. Varlamov stopped 45 of 46 shots. Darcy Kuemper made 22 saves.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Colorado Avalanche defenseman Tyson Barrie will miss the rest of the first-round playoff series against Minnesota and more. Barrie has a MCL injury in his left knee and will need four to six weeks to recover. Barrie was hurt in the second period when Wild left wing Matt Cooke delivered a knee-on-knee hit on the open ice.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman has decided to retire after 23 seasons in the NBA. The decision brings to an end to a celebrated coaching career that includes 1,042 victories. He coached Western Conference powers in Portland and Sacramento and also had stops in Golden State and Houston.
