Police Respond To Shooting Incident

Police are trying to figure out how a man was shot by his own gun in Mankato this afternoon. It happened just after 4:00 this afternoon at an apartment building on East Welcome Avenue. The man suffered a gun wound to the hip; he was transported to Immanuel Saint Joseph's hospital by Gold Cross. Authorities say the man was home alone; they're not sure yet whether or not the shooting was accidental.
