Arson Investigation Continues in Blue Earth County

Still no suspects in a rash of arson and vandalism in Blue Earth County. Crews responded to two fires at vacant homes between Mapleton and Minnesota Lake yesterday; those fires broke out within an hour of each other. Both are believed to be arson. Investigators are also looking into whether the fires are connected to a string of vandalism in Faribault County. Captain Rich Murray says, 'We do have some leads that we're following up on, there was some evidence collected at the scene and again we're coordinating with Faribault county doing our best to see what we can do to find out who's responsible for this." The State Fire Marshal is offering a reward in the arson case. The sheriff's office is also investigating several dead and injured lambs at a nearby livestock farm... and damage to several mailboxes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office.
