December 17th

Come to the Mankato Makerspace to learn how to make ornaments from willow trees just in time for Christmas on Monday, December 17th from 6-8pm at the Mankato Makerspace! Registration required. Registration opens November 20th and closes December 10th. Ages 18+

December 18th

Bring out your creative side by joining the North Mankato Taylor Library in collaboration with Bonnie Frisk to learn how to make flow art on canvases on Tuesday December 18th from 6-8pm at the Police Annex. Materials provided with no charge! Registration required. Registration opens November 19th and closes December 11th. Space is limited! Open to ages 11-18.

December 20th

The annual Roundhouse Model Railroad Christmas Holiday Open House is planned for four Thursdays in 2018; November 29th, December 6th, 13th, 20th and three Saturdays in December 2018; 1st, 8th, and 15th at the Roundhouse club building. The event will be held from 7-9pm on Thursdays  and 1-5pm on Saturdays. The admission for the open house is free. 

December 23rd

The Eagle Lake American Legion Post 617 will be serving breakfast from 8am-noon starting December 23rd, every other Sunday after that. Please contact the Legion for more details at 507-257-3130.

January 3rd

Holy Rosary Catholic Church is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, January 3rd from 12pm to 6pm. The blood drive will be in the church basement (546 Grant Ave in North Mankato). To make appointments call John Jagerson at 507-995-5238 or go online at For all those who donate between Dec. 20-Jan 6 will receive a free long-sleeve Red Cross T-shirt while supplies last. 

January 13th

St. John's Knights of Columbus is hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday, January 13 from 8:45 to 11:30am in Matthews Hall. There will be delicious pancakes, eggs, meat, apple sauce, coffee, milk and orange juice.

The Lafayette Area Lions Club will host a Dad's Belgian Waffle Breakfast from 9 am to 1 pm on Sunday, January 13 at the Lafayette Community Center. Proceeds from the event will help fund community activities that the club does. Advance sale tickets are available from all Lions members.

January 26th
