Uncle Sam releases nearly $3.8 million in emergency funding to help Minnesotans with their heating bills.

Senator Norm Coleman announced the new funds for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.  LIHEAP helps millions of low-income families as well as senior citizens and the disabled across the country pay for home heating and cooling.

Coleman also joined Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in introducing the legislation to provide an additional $2.5 billion in LIHEAP funding for 2008.
