Today marks the first anniversary of Minnesota's smoking ban, and officials say it's been a hot topic over the past year.Prior to the state's enactment of the Freedom to Breath Act, Mankato imposed a city - wide ban... and recent polls show the ban is most popular among southern Minnesotans.Mankato's Smoke - Free Coalition officials have heard from supporters and opponents of the ban, but say over the past year the comments have been positive.Chip Gay says, "I'm sure there are some people out there that are disappointed that they can't smoke in the bars but the majority of Minnesotans they think that work places are healthier, it's better for the customers, it's better for the employees."Tonight on the Fox Mankato News at Nine we'll hear from area restaurants about the impact the smoking ban is having on business.
