It may be a little early to start saying Happy New Year, but one culture is celebrating today....November marks the beginning of a new year for the Hmong culture. Many students and community members attended a party hosted at the MSU Cenntennial Student Union featuring music, dancing, a traditional meal, and other cultural activities.Toua Vang says, "For the new year, it's a gathering for the community. We have a ball tossing event, it's a little game, like a courtship game between males and females and it's a get to know each other kind of thing and it's really fun."The purpose of the event was not only to bring in the new year, but to also promote diversity and understanding of the Hmong culture on campus.
