State Loses 7500 Jobs in October

To the thousands of Minnesotans who have lost their jobs or will in the coming months, the state has a message: help is available.Minnesota's unemployment rate rose to six percent in October, Compared with 5.9 percent in September, for a net loss of 7,500 jobs.The jobless national rate is 6.5 percent.The figures are expected to get worse as the national economic crisis deepens.Department of Employment and Economic Development commissioner Dan McElroy says the state's 47 workforce centers around the state are ready to help people get back to work.
