CARLTON, MINN. (AP) _ what was supposed to be routine traffic stop in Carlton County was anything but routine for three deputies after one was dragged 40 feet and the other two were bit by a dog.

The traffic stop happened Monday afternoon in the City of Carlton.

A sheriff's deputy pulled over a driver for a traffic violation, but the driver sped away and dragged the deputy for a short distance.

Another unit was called in to help and followed the truck to a nearby home.

There, two deputies were bit by a brown and tan dog that looked like a pit bull.
The driver was arrested after a struggle.

The deputy who was dragged suffered minor injuries.

The other deputies are hoping they won't have to get rabies shots.
