Western Minnesota is bracing a weekend winter storm that could bring blizzard conditions on Sunday.
The national weather service has issued a blizzard watch from Sunday morning through late Sunday night, including the cities of Morris, Madison, Benson, Montevideo and granite falls.
A less serious winter storm watch is in effect for the same time for the rest of west-central Minnesota, including Willmar, Litchfield and Olivia.
Travel is predicted to be dangerous or even impossible in the area on Sunday due to blowing and drifting snow.
A mix of rain, snow, sleet and some light freezing rain is expected early Sunday morning before changing to snow.
In the twin cities area, the storm is expected to bring blowing snow and very low temperatures Sunday night.
