A house fire, just West of Alma City in Waseca County keeps several area fire departments busy throughout the afternoon.An investigation is underway, and firefighters continue to clear the scene.News 12's Ryan Gustafson joins us live in the newsroom with more.Fire Departments from Waseca to St. Clair came together to try and save one rural home.This fire at 32-0-20 Waseca County Road 9 just West of Alma City burned for more than five hours, even with fire crews on the scene.Investigators from the Waseca County Sheriff's Department are still trying to figure out the cause.((0.33))Waseca County Sheriff's Department Investigator Trevor Kanewischer says, "We received a 911 call shortly after 11 a.m. from the homeowner stating there was a fire in the basement. Fire departments responded, along with the Sheriff's Department, and the fire is ongoing at this time."Even with several fire departments on the scene and a constant water supply being trucked in, the cold weather and other factors kept the fire burning.And neighbors fear one of the residents may not have made it out.((0.53))Bruce Bergerson says, "We ran up to the house and started pounding on windows, and we couldn't get any response, and then the sheriffs got here and the fire departments and they took it from there."Investigators have yet to confirm any possible fatalities in the fire.We will bring you updates on this story on the Fox Mankato News at Nine and News 12 at Ten.Live in the newsroom, Ryan Gustafson, News 12.
