Fire destroys a hog barn southeast of Minnesota Lake last night. And those putting it out had to deal with sub-zero temperatures in the double digits.Crews battled the blaze for three hours last night. And given the option of fighting fires in one hundred plus degree heat versus the brutal cold, those at the Wells Fire Department know which one they would avoid.Chad Klocek says, "Negative seven. Negative seven. Gear freezes up, can't feel anything. In the heat, you have to watch out for heat, but in the cold, you have everything to worry about."The cause of the fire is still under investigation. And luckily the barn was empty when the fire struck.
