A pair of highways are once again opened.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation had closed two segments of highways in southwestern Minnesota.  Mn/DOT officials say Friday's high winds are blowing snow, creating stretches of zero visibility and whiteout conditions.  They reported numerous accidents and unsafe conditions.  Mn/DOT had pulled plows from a pair of highways until conditions improve.

The affected highways were:

Highway 19 - Redwood Falls west to Vesta
Highway 71 - Redwood Falls south to Sanborn

Travelers can obtain current information on road conditions, construction delays and weather reports from Mn/DOT's 511 Travel Information Service by dialing 511, or on the internet at www.511mn.org
