North Mankato officials unveil the plans for the expansion of Benson Park.Community members had the opportunity to see the latest plans for the city park...Members of the planning committee say the goal is to make Benson a park for residents from the area rather than simply a neighborhood park with swing - sets, tennis courts and soccer fields.And they'll be plenty to see at the park... committee members are planning for a variety of natural habitats.Mike Fischer says, "It's going to have a series of trails, shelters, wetland restoration... you're not going to see baseball fields or soccer fields... it is going to be an open environment."City officials hope to see some improvements to Benson Park the fall of 2009.
