As schools across the state look for ways to cut costs, one district could be closing a school.Administrators at the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown school district are looking into closing the school in Elysian.Currently, that school houses first and second graders from Waterville and Elysian, but with shrinking enrollment and questions about future state funding, school officials say it may be necessary.Joel Whitehurst says, "Change is difficult, some people are for it, some people are against it, and some people say that in these financial times, and with enrollment, it makes sense - they don't have to like it, they just have to live with it."The School Board will talk with an organization that wants to lease the Elysian building on February 12th.The board expects to hold a public forum on the subject sometime in March.
