Residents of four south Central Minnesota school districts have voted overwhelmingly to consolidate one financially troubled district into three.Voters in McLeod West, Gibbon - Fairfax - Winthrop, Glencoe - Silver Lake and Buffalo Lake - Hector all approved the plan.Unofficial vote totals were three thousand 115 for consolidation and 252 against.McLeod West will be 2.5 million dollars in the red at the end of the school year.If the vote had failed, the district would have been dissolved by the McLeod County Commission.Proponents say the surviving districts will be strengthened with additional state funds.
