Fire officials think a propane heater may have started a fire on a Minnesota farm Friday which killed about 25 thousand turkeys. The large barn at the Peterson Turkey Farm near Cannon Falls is a complete loss. According to witnesses the smoke could be seen almost thirty miles away. Officials say fire already engulfed about one-third of the barn when firefighters arrived and could not stop the fire from spreading. Erickson says, "First time I drove by, didn't see no smoke. Ten minutes later, probably about a hundred feet of the barn was burning and about 20 minutes after that, destruction. The whole barn was engulfed in flames and basically gone." The owners of the barn have been in the turkey business for 70 years.
