HASTINGS, MINN. (AP) _ A Lakeville woman faces charges of stealing $220,000 while working as an independent closer for a title and real estate company in Burnsville.
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said 49-year-old Kuntee Singramdoo is charged with five counts of theft and three counts of theft by swindle.
He said an investigation found she engaged in a pattern of insurance/mortgage fraud, such as issuing checks for her own benefit, that resulted in total losses of more than $220,000.
Backstrom said Singramdoo appeared in court Thursday, and her next appearance will be July 13.
There was no response when the associated press left a message at a phone listing for Singramdoo seeking comment Thursday.
