Good evening, I'm Dion Cheney...And I'm Nicole Winters, thanks for joining us.Michael Zabawa appeared in court this afternoon in Waseca County to discuss reparations to Hilary Kruger, her family and other organizations. But as News 12's Bryan Piatt explains it's raising questions about how the man sentenced to life in prison will pay. It's obvious no dollar amount can erase the night Tracy and Alec Krueger were killed.. and Hillary Krueger critically injured. But today, Michael Zabawa walked into the courthouse to see if he will have to pay money to those asking for it.Here are the numbers. Tracy and Alec's family is asking for a combined total of just over 22 thousand dollars for loss of wages during the trial held in Rochester.Add that with requests from the Waseca Police Department, American Family Insurance and the Minnesota Crime Victims Reparations Board and it's a total of over 91 thousand dollars.William Klump says, "I doubt he'll pay off all that amount but that's the system we have."Causing that doubt is the fact that Zabawa allegedly only had 302 dollars to his name at the time of his arrest, and his only income now is a job in line to earn 50 cents an hour working in prison...earnings that would go towards these reparations.Willliam Klump says, "You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. We recognize Mr. Zabawa's earning potential is pretty limited."Bryan Piatt says, "With all this talk of numbers William Klump says Hillary Kruger and the rest of the family is doing quite well."William Klump says, "I know the surviving son has adapted pretty well. Hillary is a very strong person, remarkably strong and she seems to be doing will under the circumstances."The judge has 90 days to make a decision how much Zabawa will pay.In Waseca, Bryan Piatt, News 12.
