The effort to restore the Saint James Opera House continues to receive money.The opera house recently received an eight-thousand dollar grant from the Minnesota Historical Society.The project was started in 1996 after architects said the building was structurally sound.A group of people that didn't want to lose the historic site got involved to start restoring it.No word on when the project will wrap up.The group says it will take a big donation to finish soon.Jack Conway says, "We're hoping for that one person or two that comes along with a large contribution that says, let's finish it."Once completed, the group hopes the building will hold events such as wedding receptions, dances and organization meetings.
