MINNEAPOLIS (AP)- The U.S. Census Bureau's 2008 population estimates show strong growth around the Twin Cities. But, several communities in southern Minnesota lost population.
They include Albert Lea, New Ulm, Waseca, Fairmont and Austin. The state as a whole grew by about 38,000 people to more than five million.
