Welcome back.We first told you yesterday government experts were considering whether cold medications should be pulled from the market to help curb deadly overdoses...Today: a recommendation from that panel.Michelle Gielan has that story and more in today's health watch report.Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables rich in the antioxidant quercetin may boost endurance.Researchers found it increases stamina even in people who didn't exercise regularly.Quercetin can be found in many foods including red apples, broccoli and green and black teas.An F-D-A advisory panel has voted to lower the maximum dose of over-the counter acetaminophen -- the key ingredient in Tylenol and many other pain-killers.The panel also recommended BANNING Vicodin and Percocet which also contain the acetaminophenAcetaminophen overdoses send an estimated 56, 000 people to the emergency room every year.The ability of a mother to identify a weight problem in her child appears to be dependent on her OWN weight.A new study shows overweight mothers often tend to UNDERESTIMATE their child's weight.Researchers say the findings present a challenge for physicians working with overweight kids and their parents.Those are some of today's top medical stories.I'm Michelle Gielan - CBS News - New York.
