A drug bust on a bigger scale.Eighteen people were charged in federal courtyesterday in connection with a large indoor marijuana growing operation.The operation included almost 35 hundred plants.The defendants range in age from 22 to 58 and are charged with one count of conspiracy to manufacture at least 1,000 marijuana plants.Authorities say search warrants were executed on June 30th in connection with a suspected large-scale marijuana conspiracy.Those search warrants were carried out in Coon Rapids, Elk River, Lake St. Croix Beach, Ramsey, Savage, and Shakopee.
