A marijuana bust on a much larger scale.Eighteen people were charged in federal court yesterday in connection with a large indoor marijuana growing operation.The operation included almost 35 hundred plants.Authorities say search warrants were executed on June 30th in connection with a suspected large-scale marijuana conspiracy.Some neighbors say they had no idea anything was going on. Others say they thought something wasn't right.Kim Seitz says: "We weren't surprised. The scent from over there was strong. It smelled skunky and they had weird hours.Six hundred plants were carried out of one home in Ramsey. Another 550 more were pulled from a home in Elk River.The 18 arrested could face life in prison if they're convicted.
