Woman Accused in Campground Incident Appears in Court

The woman accused of backing her van over a tent where a family was resting... killing a four month old infant... makes her first court appearance in Renville County this morning.The judge set 31 year old Nicolle Prechel's bail at 500 thousand dollars with no conditions, or a conditional 200 thousand dollars.Prechel also requested a speedy trial...Prosecutors say she had a preliminary blood alcohol level of over twice the legal limit when she drove the van over the tent last weekend.4 month old Wyatt Sander of Redwood Falls was in the tent with his parents... he was killed.His mother was also injured.Prechel is facing charges including criminal vehicular homicide, third degree DWI and driving with a suspended license.Tonight at six, the infant's grandmother speaks to News 12.
