Good evening, I'm Dion Cheney. And I'm Nicole Winters, thanks for joining us.The low price of milk is making hard for local dairy farmers to make a profit...But today they had a chance to voice their concerns.News 12's Jennifer Hudspeth has more about why these farmers are asking for help.Bob and Rose Zoubek have owned their dairy farm for close to 50 years...(NATS) and producing milk is what they do best...Bob says, "No matter if you're going backwards or forward, you've got to be there to take care of your animals, that's the Dairyman's life."But life has been hard lately...A hundredweight of milk is selling for less than 10 dollars and farmers like the Zoubek's need it to sell at around 15 dollars just to break even.Bob says, "It's going to come to it that it's not going to pay to go in the barn because every time we step in the barn we're losing money and that just shouldn't be."The Zoubek's and other local farmers say they need help...and today lawmakers came to listen.Sen. Kevin Dahl says, "I certainly want to help and I represent a predominantly rural district and again any information I can get from my constituents, that's what I'm here for, to take it back to legislature and dig into it a little bit further."Digging into milk pricing issues, like stimulus money and existing laws that could be modified to help dairy farmers.Ideas that could bring about change the Zoubek's and other dairy farmers are counting on.Bob says, "I hope we can get an answer, what's going to happen in the future and if we've got something to look forward to."In Montgomery, Jennifer Hudspeth News 12.(Nats of cow mooing)
