The weekend long Besty-Tacy Convention wraps up today...with a visit from a special guest.Meg Cabot, author of 'The Princess Diaries,' stopped in to talk about her love for the novels and how the Betsy Tacy books shaped her own writing.She wrote a foreword note in the 'Betsy and Joe' book set to be re-released along with two other books in the series.Cabot sees many similarities between the Betsy-Tacy books and her own writingMeg Cabot says. "The spirit of the books are kind of the same even though the Betsy Tacy books are set 100 years ago, they are still about girls that have problems with boys, problems with friends so it's basically kind of the same spirit."This was Cabot's first trip to Mankato.Throughout the weekend the Convention also featured book related games and discussions.
