Families in the Janesville Waldorf Pemberton school district will notice a change in school lunch next fall. That is more change in their pocket. The district is bringing down the price of lunch starting this fall.Elementary will drop from 2.50 to 2.25 with secondary prices dropping to 2.35.The big change will be for adults bringing the cost from 5 dollars to 3.15.New Superintendent Dick Orcutt decided it was a necessary change to make more people purchase the lunch. The school was put on probation from the state so they won't be in the red again.JWP Superintendent Dick Orcutt says, "They want us to be successful but they want to make sure you don't go so far in debt that you aren't going to effect programming in the general fund as well."Orcutt says if the program loses money again this year, there is a chance the state department would put a food service in place instead of the district owning the lunch program.
