20th Star Tribune TRAM Ride Takes Place In St. Peter

Almost one thousand bike riders rolled into Saint Peter this afternoon. They were taking part in the 20th anniversary of The Ride Across Minnesota for Multiple Sclerosis Society. The group is following the original route, starting in Ortonville Monday and ending Friday in Welch for around 250 miles. The original ride raised 160-thousand dollars with around 800 riders. This year they plan to raise nearly a million dollars with just under a thousand people participating.Minnesota Multiple Sclerosis Society Media Coordinator Emily Wilson says, "This is the very best way to see Minnesota from the seat of your bike. Small towns great scenery, good food all over, great hospitality, so it's really a good mix of people that have a connection to the disease, or people are learning a connection now just by doing the ride."Wilson says the ride has been easier this year because of mild temperatures and good tailwinds.
