Southern Minnesota Wakes Up to Snowy Weather

And that snowy weather is our top story this midday.Thank you for joining us, I'm Rosemary Shultz. The white stuff began falling late last night and so far we've gotten about an inch of snow. Now the snow has turned into slush...The national weather service expects snowfall to be heaviest from Redwood Falls to New Ulm...That has officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol reminding drivers it's time to start thinking about how to drive in winter weather.Capt. Lori Hodapp-Betterton says, "You just have to give yourself a little time. So I think it's time for people to start paying attention to the weather. You have to give yourself more time, slow down and increase your following distances.''The State Patrol says snowfall on Saturday was a factor in about 100 crashes.
