Rep. Walz Ahead Of The Pack In Campaign Donations

Congressman Tim Walz raises more campaign money from in state donors than any other Representative in Minnesota.A study by the Humphrey Institute says in quarter three of this year, Walz raised eighty three percent of his big donor contributions from Minnesotans, rather than taking out of state money.Political Science Professor Joe Kunkel says those in state donations may help his campaign.Joseph Kunkel says, "It's generally a good thing for somebody to get a high percentage of their donations from within their own district, then it's not a campaign issue that somebody can use against you in the future and say he's getting so much of his money from California or New York or some other place, he's representing them not us."Republican Erik Paulsen came in second raising almost seventy nine percent of donations from Minnesota.Keith Ellison was at the bottom of the list only raising ten point six percent of his contributions from the state.
