The House Capital Investment Committee meets in St. Peter this afternoon...Looking at bonding and infrastructure projects seeking state funding assistance...Community development leaders are requesting 400 thousand dollars from the state to help plan the extension of the bike trail along the Minnesota River Trail.Students from MSU, the University of Minnesota and Gustavus have been looking at different ways to expand the trail.And this funding will help continue the planning...Community Development Director Ross Wille says, "For St. Peter a 12 mile connection to Mankato provides us with a connection all the way to Faribault, Minneopa Park, to Rapidan, so it's a wonderful opportunity."Once the plan is complete... community development leaders will request another bond for the actual construction of the trail.
