The League of Minnesota Cities is using a Halloween theme for its latest meetings around the state this fall... talking about problems local governments are facing.Mankato hosted around 90 city officials today from the South Central Region. The meeting is dubbed 'Attack of the Killer Budget Cuts... Cities Eaten Alive.'The focus of much of the day was on how cities have been surviving government aid reductions.A roundtable discussion allowed the officials to express what they need from the league as well.League of Minnesota Cities director of member services Kevin Frazell says, "Some of them are very candid saying, 'lobby hard for LGA.' There are a small minority who have said, 'LGA isn't going to comeback, so help us understand new ways to deliver services.' Everybody says that."The meeting also looked at how to work with fire relief pensions, and even how cities can use social networking sites.
