Residents in Kasota today are still reeling from yesterday's news that a Le Sueur County Sheriff's Deputy will not be indicted by a grand jury.Following the shooting last July of 24-year-old Tyler Heilman at the Valley View apartment complex, witnesses that live here say they wanted justice in the case against deputy Todd Waldron..But after hearing testimony last week and deliberating for two hours, the grand jury in Le Sueur County called the actions of Waldron Self Defense...And after being quite vocal with their anguish after the incident, today the complex was quiet....Bre Leiferman-Helder says, "A lot of people don't like to talk about it because a lot of people were there, a lot of people were affected, and don't want to relive the situation and it's hard for them. It's too bad it happened. I don't think it went the way it should have I guess personally."The Anoka County'attorney's office, which handled the grand jury case, says there are two sides to every story..And they may hold a press conference in a couple of weeks to help answer questions about how the grand jury came to its decision not to indict...Leiferman-Helder says she and others here would like those answers...Leiferman-Helder says, "I don't know if they are just looking over certain things or if there's certain situations that make htme think that it is ok for that kind of stuff to happen. My son didn't want to come out here any more. He didn't want to come out and stay. IT's scary. IT's a scary thing. No one wants to see it happen and when it does we want different results."The Le Sueur County Sheriff's Department declined our request for a comment.
