A house in rural Sibley County may be a total loss after an overnight fire that took several area crews to control.
Belle Plaine Fire Chief Randy Koepp says firefighters were called to the home on 301st Avenue, just north of Highway 25 between Belle Plaine and Green Isle after 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night.
Departments responding to the fire included Belle Plaine, Green Isle, Hamburg, Cologne, ,Norwood-Young America Henderson and Gaylord.
Chief Koepp says a family of three was able to get out of the house unharmed, and no firefighters were injured battling the blaze, which took about two hours to get under control.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
