A home in rural Sibley County may be a total loss after an overnight fire that took several crews to control.Belle Plaine Fire Chief Randy Koepp says firefighters were called to the home on 301st Avenue, just north of Highway 25 between Belle Plaine and Green Isle...just after 11 o clock last night. The Chief says the family of three was able to get out of the house unharmed and no firefighters were injured battling the blaze, which took about two and a half hours to get under control.Koepp says they were very fortunate there were no injuries as the fire in the two story structure did present some challenges.Randy Koepp says, "The main floor had a collapse so we couldn't get in on the main floor, so that was our biggest challenge. We couldn't get in to get at it that way so it was a lot from ladders and windows to get at it so it was very intense."Around eight fire crews responded to the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
