The man arrested in the death of a 5-year-old North Carolina girl appears before a judge.Mario Andrette McNeill is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape of a child.He said little and showed no emotion during a brief court appearance this afternoon.Police say Shaniya Davis was sexually assaulted and strangled.Police also say McNeill admitted to kidnapping the girl.Shaniya's mother, Antoinette Davis, is charged with trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution.
