And now a remarkable story of hope, faith and friendship...a story that starts in Minnesota...journeys to Michigan...and back again.A family from Easton Minnesota and a family from Michigan are celebrating the birth of twins this holiday weekend, but it's not your typical story of new parenthood.News 12's Jennifer Hudspeth tells us why both families are calling the newborns a true blessing...Jenny and Bryant Stiernagle from Easton met the Olsons just over a year ago...and it was a meeting that sparked an immediate bond between the families.Stiernagle's say, "We don't really consider them just friends, they're more like another part of our family."Olson's say, "You would have though we'd known each other forever."It all started when Sara Olson and the Stiernagle's oldest daughter Lily came face to face for the first time.Both are born with a birth defect known as PFFD...neither have femur or fibula bones in their legs.It was a meeting that changed the lives of both families forever.Sara says, "When I walk in front of a mirror I always look away because I just don't like to look at myself and the way I walk...since I met Lilly I haven't done that since, it was very humbling."That first connection was just the beginning of an unbelievable journey.Sara Olson was able to deliver her first child but complications took a toll on her small frame.When the Stiernagle's learned the Olson's would like to have another child, they stepped in to help.Jenny Stiernagle offered to be a surrogate.Jenny says, "I feel really good that I'm able to help a family and give them the children they long for and deserve and want."They're called the Minnesota Twins...Babies Lilly and Jack are just six days old.Two bundles of joy the Olsons could not be more thankful for...Sara says, "It's all come full circle, we met for one reason and we gained so much more out of it than we ever anticipated, we gained new babies, and we gained friendships and we gained an amazing bond for her daughter and myself."A bond that will continue to build...the Stiernagle's were asked to be godparents for the twins.Jenny says, "I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds and what it's going to be like."Two early Christmas gifts and a future the Olson's say they owe all to this Minnesota family.Sara Olson says, "They're family, they're blessings and truly the most selfless people I've ever met."In Easton, Jennifer Hudspeth News 12.
