Trees are on the minds of many this time of year...as people head out in search of the perfect Christmas Tree... but finding the perfect one can be like looking for a needle in a haystack.News 12's Jennifer Hudspeth has some hints that may help you head home with exactly what your looking for.It's the season to be jolly...and there's one thing that is sure to bring out a smile..."A nice Christmas tree..."But the problem is that everyone has a different opinion for what equals "a nice tree"...Rachel says, "It'd be green and small and smooth and short branches."Dulcey says, "We have 9 foot ceilings so we like them to be kind of grand looking."Marie says, "I like the smell I like to be able to walk into my house and smell that tree, I think that adds so much to the Christmas spirit."From Firs to Pines to Spruce, each known to make good holiday trees...it can be tough to know which one best suits what you are looking for...Here are some options.If you want a tree with nice strong branches a spruce may be the way to go...Tony says, "For those who are looking to hang heavy ornaments on them, they're nice because the branches will hold up and they won't droop."The downside... they're needles are a little on the sharp side.Pines however are very full and have very soft needles.Tony says, "You just almost want to give them a hug and squeeze them, but they're so soft it's hard to hang decorations on them so it's one of those you just want to put lights on and a few ornaments."Jennifer Hudspeth says, "While people are always looking for different qualities in their Christmas tree, if you're having a tough time you can always stick with a crowd favorite...a balsam fir."Tony says, "The balsam fir has the nice fragrance to it and that's what some people really like in the evergreens when purchasing a real tree, they really like the fragrance of a fresh cut Christmas tree."With over seven thousand to choose from at the Guggisberg tree farm...the goal is simple.Tony says, "Nobody's left without a tree."Even though leaving with one...may take some chopping.In New Ulm,(Nats) Jennifer Hudspeth News 12.
