The winter weather is wreaking havoc on area roadways. The Mankato Department of Public Safety reports responding to 47 accidents as the snow hit yesterday, including this one involving a school bus. But Mankato wasn't the only place hit hard with traffic incidents...23-year-old Thomas Lattimore of Madelia was injured when he lost control of the truck he was driving and rolled it on Co. Rd. 13.
A Kasson woman and her young child were involved in a one-vehicle accident yesterday as well.25 year old Katie Herrold lost control of her car on slippery I-90 just east of Fairmont, the child was properly restrained in the backseat and not injured.
23-year-old Nicole Brennan of Mapleton was injured when she collided with another car at the intersection of Highway 60 and Watonwan County Road 5. None of the injuries were life threatening... but authorities don't want this trend to continue. They are asking drivers to be extra aware of road conditions now as they are constantly changing.
