The cold temperatures and winter conditions posing problems for more than just motorists...Firefighters found themselves battling freezing water as well as a blaze at a farm near Hector, MN this weekend.The fire did destroy a hog nursery barn and the 11-hundred piglets that were inside...A 9-1-1 cell phone call alerted authorities to the fire at the Robert Kiecker farm just outside Hector, yesterday morning and with an air temperature of only 8 degrees, firefighters say efforts were hampered a bit by the water freezing.Fairfax Fire Chief Tim Grunke estimated the value of the barn at 200-hundred thousand dollars and the piglets at 30-thousand.The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.
