Northstar Aviation Debuts New Flight Simulators

When the weather outside isn't favorable for flying, aviation students now have a second option to get behind the controls. Two full motion simulators... similar to a Piper Seminole and Warrior debuted today and are open for both the public and students.Northstar Aviation's President says the Maverick One and Maverick two will become part of the regimen at the university, giving students the chance to log hours before they sit inside the pilot seat of an actual plane.President of Northstar Aviation Mark Smith says, "20 hours of your flight training can actually be given in these simulators, which is quite an advantage especially in the winter time when it's 20 below zero. And we can actually sit in the indoors and actually conduct training really 24 hours a day."The simulators can imitate a variety of conditions from thunderstorms to snowstorms and comes complete with the instruments one would see inside a cockpit.
