MN Dems Propose Construction Jobs Bill

Minnesota Senate Democrats are proposing a 50-million dollar bill aimed at putting people back to work.Co-sponsors Jim Metzen and Kathy Saltzman say Senators from both sides of the aisle are getting behind the bill. They say half the people who work in Minnesota's construction industry are out of work. That translates to 200-thousand people. The DFL proposal calls for tax cuts for companies that are rehabbing historic buildings. It would also allow local governments to designate projects as green projects, qualifying for some funding from the bill.
