Heart and Vascular Wellness Program

Heart disease...it's the Number one cause of death for Minnesotans.Today in effort to combat the killer disease Mayo Clinic and ISJ held a Heart and Vascular wellness program.People who participated had to complete four non-invasive tests, they filled out a life-style questionnaire and then received advice from health care professionals.Doctor John Haley, Mayo Clinic Cardiologist says, "Doing things now can prevent things later. If we can get people to exercise regularly, to eat right, to lose weight, and to treat their heart risk factors. We can eliminate a lot of disease and people can live longer and healthier lives, which is what it's all about in the end."Doctor Haley will join other medical professionals for a lecture conference called "It's all about heart" at South Central College.That event is on March 27th, and will be open to the public.
