A bus driver in St. Peter facing multiple charges for criminal sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13.News 12's Jennifer Hudspeth joins us with details about the case and why the St. Peter Police are asking for your help.Nicole, Dion...This case is very disturbing....Twenty two year old Douglas Arthur LaBarr was arrested on Friday for allegations concerning a sexual relationship with a young boy.According to the complaint the victim states LaBarr was his babysitter. The complaint says the sexual incidents started back in May of 2004 when the victim was just ten years old, and continued until September of 2007.During this time LaBarr was between the ages of 17 and 20, seven years older than the victim.Today St. Peter Police Chief Matt Peters told me the investigation on this case started at the beginning of this month, and alleged crimes of this nature are taken very seriously...Chief Peters says, "Victim's of these types of perpetrators live with these crimes the rest of their life so there really are few crimes that are as serious as this."LaBarr has been charged with nine felonies including three counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, five counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of third degree criminal sexual conduct. To make matters worse... when he was taken into custody, LaBarr was employed as a bus driver for Saints Bus Service Incorporated, the bus company contracted by the school district.Right now authorities say this case is not related to LaBarr's work as a bus driver and they don't know of any other victims at this time...but they do urge anyone with additional information to come forward.Peters says, " We just think it's fair to have the information out there so that people can talk to their kids and ask them about these kinds of things because we want to know if there could be more victims and that's really the only way to find out."We were able to get in touch with LaBarr's employer today and Michael Hennek, the owner of the company, said LaBarr's background check came back clean, In a written statement Hennek said,"During his employment he has been a model employee with no problematic employment issues."LaBarr made his first court appearance today, his bail was set at 100 thousand dollars without conditions or 50 thousand dollars with conditions. He is scheduled for another hearing tomorrow.Live in the Newsroom, Jennifer Hudspeth News 12.
