While kids may not like to hear this, the school year begins in just a month.And the Salvation Army is asking for your help to get kids back to school with the right supplies.They're collecting any and all *new school supplies for kids in need.They anticipate at least 600 kids needing supplies this year... and are asking for things like folders, tablets, pens, pencils, markers, crayons and backpacks.They have lists you can pick up at the Salvation Army, or you can just donate any school supplies.Organizers say cash donations also help.Elaine Schoenberger, Salvation Army, says, "School supplies are so important, I remember as a kid going back to school to have those new things, and not somebody's left overs you know to have new supplies that you could feel proud of. "You can bring your donations to the Salvation Army in Mankato, or they have a number of different drop spots around town.If you are a family in need, they are encouraging you to come in and fill out a supplies list.You have until August 25th.
