Stacy Steinhagen is thrilled to come home to Minnesota as she joins the KEYC News 12 News Team.
Growing up near Waconia, Minnesota, Stacy remembers often stopping the dial on KEYC News. Because the reception was a bit fuzzy, she had to hold the TV's rabbit ears in just the right spot to improve the picture. It's a task Stacy says was well worth it because even as a young viewer, she always wanted to know more about what it takes to be an anchor.
Stacy earned a journalism degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She has worked behind the scenes at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis and got her on-air start at the NBC affiliate in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Stacy says the best part of being a journalist is the thrill of the daily opportunity to tell the stories of those who call southern Minnesota home. From taking viewers on a tour of a town forever changed by a tornado to introducing the community to the unsung hero making a real difference right down the street, Stacy considers her job a privilege.
Stacy is also serious about her bragging rights for surviving so many Minnesota winters, and to say that in her spare time she only "likes" shopping is not the whole story!
