Motorcyclist Ride For Special Olympics
Despite the poor weather motorcyclist put their rubber to the road in the 5th annual Torch Ride.
Over 25 people took off from the Mankato Harley Davidson on the 100 mile ride from Mankato to Mapleton.
All proceeds benefit the Mankato LEEP to help special Olympic athletes.
Mandy Hunecke says, "We have several state tournaments that we do and our state tournaments unfortunately it's not free for our athletes to go to those tournaments so we do these fundraiser's to help support our teams and their ventures to different tournaments around the state and we also do it go get the awareness out about what special Olympics is and the people that we serve."
Last year they had over 200 participants and organizers of the event say the weather probably held a lot of people back this time.
