Police are looking for a suspect in a Mankato home invasion that ended with a shot fired.
The break-in took place around 1:30 this afternoon on the 100 block of Wickfield Drive on the south edge of town.
The homeowner, who was in the house at the time, heard someone else inside, and confronted the intruder.
Commander Matt DuRose with the Mankato Department of Public Safety says, "The homeowner did fire one round, shooting at the suspect at that point. Suspect then fled the area on foot we believe and we're still searching for that person at this time."
Police say they're looking for a black male with dark complexion, approximately six feet tall with a slender build.
He was wearing a short sleeve red T-shirt with blue jeans, and was in his late teens or early 20s.
Mankato Public Safety asks that you call 911 with any information about the suspect.
