The Saint Peter football team is a perfect 5-0 so far this season.
News 12 Sports Erick Lind says it has been a while since the Saints have had this good of a start to the year, but it can be attributed to the nearly 20 seniors on the roster.
Josh Peymann (Pie-man) is one of the upper classmen leading the way at quarterback, and he's our KEYC Scheels All-Sports Boys Prep Athlete of the Week.
The last time Saint Peter won at least five games in a football season, Josh Peymann was in fifth grade.
The Saints quarterback is now a senior, and has helped lead the team to five victories in the first five games.
That is after taking over the position midway through his junior year.
With an unblemished record, Peymann hasn't made many mistakes throwing just one interception in 55 pass attempts.
Peymann says he thinks he is a better runner than passer, but he has thrown for over 500 yards and 7 touchdowns, as opposed to running for 339 yards and 5 touchdowns.
He says the entire team thought this year would be good, but winning the first five is even a surprise to the players, but they know there is still room for improvement.
If Peymann keeps being the vocal leader he has to this point, the Saints could have the winningest season he and his classmates have ever seen.
That's why he's our KEYC Scheels All-Sports Boys Prep Athlete of the Week.
